Why Audiology: Stuart has always been interested in sound perception. He took several audiology courses and hearing science courses that encouraged him to pursue a career in audiology.
Organizations: Stuart is currently the American Speech-Language and Hearing (ASHA) representative to the American Medical Association’s Editorial panel for Common Procedural Terminology (CPT). He also co-chairs ASHA’s Healthcare Economics Committee. Stuart has previously served as President of the Iowa Speech Language Hearing Association, President of the Iowa Speech Language Hearing Foundation and Chairman of Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Board.

Hobbies and Interests: Spending time with family, traveling, gardening, scrapbooking and attending her sons’ various activities.
Why Audiology: Tanya wanted to work in the healthcare field and took classes in Audiology, Pharmacy and pre-med. She spent a summer job shadowing with a local pharmacist as well as at Hearing Associates, P.C. She was impressed with Gary and Stu’s business and how passionate they were about helping patients with hearing problems. As an audiologist, she is able to work in the healthcare field, diagnosing ear and hearing problems and improving patient hearing and communication abilities.

Why Audiology: Rachael has always liked working with children and had initially wanted to help kids with hearing loss as a speech pathologist. After taking some audiology classes, though, she realized that she enjoyed the science of hearing and the technology involved with hearing aids, so she decided to become an audiologist.

He was unsure how he would do this until he took his first communication disorders course during undergraduate studies. After initially pursuing speech language pathology, Jeff discovered that his true passion was audiology. Jeff’s goal is to improve the quality of life of patients and their family members by providing excellent hearing healthcare.

Why Audiology: Megan has always had a passion for helping others. Why Audiology: After teaching preschool for 10 years, I decided to follow my passion for helping others and my interest in psychology, so I obtained my 2nd degree and worked in the social worker field before making my way to Hearing Associates. Why Audiology: The introduction to Audiology came from working in Colorado. I was provided the opportunity to participate through HIS International Hearing Society apprenticeship under an Audiologist. My passion and rapport grew with each individual person with respect to their personal struggles with hearing loss. At the end of each day I am blessed with the privilege of assisting others and helping improve their quality of life and communication. Hellen Keller was once asked with loss of sight and sound, which sense would she choose to regain if she could. Hellen responded, "Blindness cuts us off from things, but deafness cuts us off from people."
